Writer’s block is a common problem that seems to come upon many writers.
Suddenly, you feel stuck. As if you don't know how to come up with that one brilliant idea that will create “your story”. Or maybe you have an idea, but just can't seem to fit the words together. In the book, How To Kick Your Writer's Block To The Curb, by award-winning author Christina Hamlett; explains how to initially start your writing journey!
I love how Christina adds so many inspiring quotes in her new book in hopes of motivating the reader. This book emphasizes on improving one’s writing tactics. Within each chapter is a new writing discussion. Taking it step by step, Christina explains how to strengthen writing skills and clarity.
Christina provides assignments for the readers, in order to stretch their thinking process. These assignments help the reader assess their writing skills and as the title says- “to kick their writer’s block to the curb”. Within each chapter is a new topic dedicated to helping others create quality writing.
I especially found this book very helpful because as I followed along with each of the assignments, I found myself exploring my creativity levels, and going more into depth with my topics. As each chapter progresses through the book, Christina uses personal experiences to relate and convey the meanings of her topic to the audience.
Christina covers many different writing aspects in her book such as starters, poetry, blogs, lyrics, ads, and so much more! I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who feels stuck, bored, or confused when trying to start or finish a writing piece!
